Hi, I am a middle aged man called Phil with a late diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome. I am single, unemployed, and live independently in the United Kingdom. I suppose you could say I have mild Aspergers, although it ever can be mild! (!), I don’t have any other associated conditions.
I began writing this blog mainly intending to express some serious thoughts about my situation and others like me who are part of the “lost generation” – i.e. older undiagnosed adults who grew up and tried to live their lives at a time when Asperger Syndrome was unheard of and so experienced severe difficulties in life.
However, as things have turned out I’m writing more about things like the Gluten free diet and the physiological causes of ASDs. Also having recently caught Lyme disease I will be writing about the Autism/Lyme connection and possibly about what treatments can be found to treat both.
I believe ASDs are partly a medical condition, as well as social, neurological, and psychological, and to be honest I think people who are opposed to the treatment of Autism are just being emotional. The more I read about the physiological and metabolic problems in ASDs the more I’m realising that they can undermine personal health.
Welcome, Phil! Glad to have you blogging at WordPress.
Also an older Aspergers diagnosee here. Thanks for sharing about your experiments.

Hey Phil.
I just wanted to thank you for doing this blog.
I hope the gfcf diet is continuing to work for
you and I’d love to hear how you’re getting
on with it now.
Again, Thanks
Robbie
